Connie L. Craven

Connie L. Craven, age 76 of Beaver Dams, NY passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center. She was born on October 7, 1945 in Corning, NY to Leon Sturdivant and Verna Clark (Ganung.)
Connie will be remembered for her genuine concern for the well being of others and animals especially her two granddaughters Chiana and Cierra Craven, who meant the world to her, and her cat Shadow. She will also be remembered for her hard working can do attitude, her sassiness that she always had, always having to look her best especially her hair and her high heels and her love of cardinals.
Connie is survived by three children: Bernie(Chryl) Craven, Frank (Michelle) Craven, and Brent (Michelle)Craven; grandchildren: Kayla (Jim) Craven, Kyle Craven, Calena Clair, Chad (Brandy) Craven, Nick Craven, Phillip Craven, Clint Craven, Chiana Craven and Cierra Craven; siblings: Leon Sturdivant, Edward Sturdivant, Nellie VanAmburg, Sharon Champion, Thelma Carmell, Waneta Bump, Sandra Farell; 12 great-grandchildren; great-great-granddaughter and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
In her free time Connie enjoyed having a cup of coffee with her family members and listening to Hank Williams Sr. She also loved going to family get togethers where the sound of her distinct voice and laugh could be heard all throughout the house.
In addition to her parents, Connie was predeceased by her son Duane Craven; husbands: Bernie Craven and Nelson Chapman; siblings: Kathy Sturdivant, Leslie Leon Sturdivant, Barbara Sturdivant and Ellen Haley; grandson Tony Craven; step father Harold Clark.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Hope Cemetery, 325 Park Ave, South Corning, NY on Monday, August 1, 2022 at 11:00am with Rev. James Radford officiating.
