Connie Ensz Obituary

Connie Ensz

August 11, 1952 - January 16, 2025

BISMARCK - Connie Ensz, 72, of Bismarck passed away January 16, 2025, with her family by her side, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 17, 2025, at 11:00 am, Eagles Park Mandan Shelter #1, 100 15th St NE, Mandan, as she wanted us to wait until the weather was warmer and we could do it outside.

She was born in Harvey, ND on August 11, 1952, to Theodore and Helen (Hirchert) Pister. She grew up in Butte, ND and Harvey, ND. She enjoyed sharing stories about growing up with her siblings and cousins.

She married Don Ensz on April 5, 1969. Together they had three children Timmy, Donny, & Heidi.

Connie attended St. Joseph's School of Hair and was a Hairstylist for over 35 years. She worked at the Baptist home as a CNA until she opened her own beauty salon in 1989. She owned and operated Milady's Beauty Salon until she retired in 2020. She worked at Maple View part-time as dietary aide, then she worked for Visiting Angels until she was diagnosed with cancer.

She was a hardworking person and had a big heart; she took care of and helped whoever she could and then some. She loved spending time with her family, as they were her pride and joy. She also loved to cook and bake. When you would ask her for her German recipes her response would be, "I don't know I just dump". She enjoyed doing projects around the house inside and outside with Don. She enjoyed helping her family, and her grandkids were her pride and joy. She loved them more than anything and was very proud of them.

Connie is survived by her son, Don Jr (Jodee) Ensz of Harrisburg, SD; daughter, Heidi Ensz of Bismarck; grandsons, Levi (Teal) Ensz of Bismarck, Tyler, Shawn, and Rylan Ensz of Harrisburg, SD, Jordan and Andrew Ensz; brother, Ron (Teri) Pister of St. Joseph, MO; sisters, Ruth (Randy) Edwards of Ulysses, Joann Martwick of Drake, ND; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She had a special bond with her nephew, Josh Martwick of Drake, ND. Her fur babies, Windsor and Rugar, who provided her much comfort in the last year.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; son, Tim; parents, Theodore and Helen Pister; brothers, Roger and Gary.
