Connie Franks-Toops, 59, of Crothersville, passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at her home.

Born December 12, 1965, in Madison, she was the daughter of Jack Harold Franks and Rhonda Sue (Griffin) Franks and was a 1984 graduate of Jennings County High School.

Connie married Maynard Toops on June 3, 1989, at the Muscatatuck Park and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2006. She worked the service desk at Wal-Mart in North Vernon for two years and was a lifelong homemaker. Connie enjoyed online gaming, yard sales, Colts football, shopping online and at flea markets, and especially looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include sons, Ryan (Cassie) Franks of Gerlew, Illinois, and Zach Toops of Monmouth, Illinois; daughter, Katie (Justin) Smith of Crothersville; stepson, Matthew Thompson of Farmington, Illinois; sister, Angie Owens of Bedford; grandchildren, Brenna and Henry Smith of Crothersville, and Austin Thompson of Peoria, Illinois; niece, Kaylee (Justin) Lesnet of Commiskey; nephews, Christopher (Kelsey) Marksberry of Bedford, Braydon (Maria) Owens of Madison; great nieces, Peyton and Blakely Lesnet of Commiskey, Braylee Marksberry of Bedford; great nephew, Harley Marksberry of Bedford.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and grandparents, Delmar and Alice Griffin.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to help with expenses.
