Connie Gotsch (nee Kapelke), of Island Lake, was born on December 9, 1947, in Baraboo, WI, to the late Ernest and Lena Belle (nee Shearer) Kapelke. Connie passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025.
Connie was one of the sweetest ladies with the kindest hearts and the best mother that two boys could ask for. She was an amazing grandmother who was her grandchildren's biggest fan at school performances and athletic events. Connie, a Wauconda High School graduate, Class of '66, was also a familiar face around Island Lake as she spent several years working at Island Foods as a cashier and nearly 20 years working as the Accounts Payable Clerk at the Village Hall of Island Lake. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love, warmth, and kindness will live on through her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, David (Tracy) Gotsch, Chris (Courtney) Gotsch, her adored grandchildren, Amber, Amanda, Morgan, Peyton, Lucas, Ethan, Jacob, and Angela and beloved siblings Carol, Ellen, and Larry, as well as many loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Donna, Faye, Betty, Carl, and her twin sister Bonnie.
Visitation will be Monday, April 14th, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, and the funeral service will be at 10 am, Tuesday, April 15th – both at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda, IL. Interment will follow at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary, followed by lunch at Galati's Hideaway also in Cary.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, as her twin sister and best friend Bonnie battled an aggressive lymphoma. Visit lls.org.
