Connie Heatlie Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wasik Funeral Home - Gendernalik Chapel - New Baltimore on Dec. 10, 2025.
On December 9, 2025, Connie Anne Heatlie, born May 23, 1955, passed away after a two-year fight with Pancreatic cancer. If sheer willpower could cure disease, she would've outlived all of us by a mile.
She had a gift for making people feel instantly welcomed and loved. Her home wasn't just a house-it was a gathering place, and a safe haven. She could organize a holiday, a pool day, or a crisis with the same calm confidence, and she never hesitated to tell you exactly how things should be done. She was always the boss and mostly knew best.
She loved all animals, but especially her cats, who were some of the most well-fed and well-loved pets around. She loved to bake, and she had the magical ability to show up with desserts no one asked for but everyone devoured anyway. In the summer, she could always be found spending countless hours in her pool surrounded by family and friends.
An avid poker watcher and player, she was always convinced she would catch a break on the river. Sometimes she was right but always had the confidence of a champion.
For the last 20 years, she proudly worked as a tax pro for H&R Block, where she genuinely loved every one of the hundreds of clients she helped each year. She looked forward to tax season and flourished in the non-stop work from January to April.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Daniel Heatlie, who has now lost his lifelong navigator; her daughters Jennifer Holle (James) and Brandi Wangelin(Jonathan), who carry her strength, her love, and a little bit of her bossiness; her five beloved grandkids-Martin, Dana, Cordelia, Cole, and Joelle-who will forever miss her hugs, her humor, and her ability to make every holiday and every visit feel special. As well as her siblings, Annette, Ralph (Nancy), Harold (Karen) and Guy and many nieces and nephews.
Her absence is immeasurable, but her memory is woven into every story we tell, every recipe we recreate, every pool day we enjoy, and every time we find ourselves thinking, "She would have handled this better."
