Connie R. Hergenrather, passed away on September 25, 2025, at the age of 87 in Dayton, Ohio. Born on December 1, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, Connie lived a life filled with faith, love, and a deep commitment to her family.
Having dedicated 25 years to her role as a procurement clerk at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Connie was known for her steadfast work ethic and reliability. However, it was her devotion to her family that truly defined her. A faithful woman, she made it a priority to pray for her loved ones and offered words of encouragement through cards she thoughtfully sent in the mail. Raising her children to be good Christians was her greatest joy and purpose.
Connie's passion extended beyond her family to include all creatures great and small. She had a special fondness for animals and would often send donations to organizations that aimed to help them. In her earlier years, her home was a lively one, filled with several dogs and cats. She even bred Yorkshire Terriers and Shih Tzus, sharing her love of animals with many who crossed her path.
As a member of Faircreek Church, Connie's faith was a central aspect of her life. She fostered a strong sense of community, and her kindness touched the lives of many.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Hergenrather and Sharon (Kenny) Grimes; her sons, Timothy Hergenrather and E. Arthur Ellison; her grandchildren, Sarah Grimes, Luke (Jessica) Grimes, Joshua Hergenrather, and Faith (Jonathan) Millhoff; and her great-grandchildren, Lilly, Brooke, and Emma Grimes. Additionally, she leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Ruth Hergenrather and Nancy Toepher.
Connie is reunited in spirit with her beloved husband of 63 years, James "Jim" Douglas Hergenrather, her daughter, Ruth "Ruthie" Hergenrather, and her parents, Verna and Harry J. Frazier.
Though she has left this world, Connie R. Hergenrather's legacy of love, faith, and compassion will continue to resonate through the lives she touched.
