Gary Hergenrather Obituary
Gary Earl Hergenrather, age 82, of Lambertville, MI passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 13, 2022. He was born October 31, 1939 in Toledo, OH to Earl and Irene (Wall) Hergenrather. Gary was a 1957 graduate of Waite High School. He worked for the Toledo Transmission Company and for the Dana Corporation for 43 years, retiring as a supervisor in 2001. Gary was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. An avid golfer and bowler, he was a Marshall at Bedford Hills for many years and played on both the golf league and bowling league at Dana. He also loved Bingo and called games throughout the area, frequently at Lakeview Hall. He was a former member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a current parishioner of Regina Coeli Catholic Church where he served as an Usher.
Gary is survived by his wife of 49 years, Linda Houck Hergenrather (married June 10, 1972); daughters, Jennie (Phil) Kraus and Stacie (Kevin) Niebel; grandchildren, Olivia, Noah, and Joshua Kraus, Andrew, Nicholas, and Lillian Niebel; sister, Bonnie Shuff; and sister-in-law, Karen (Bill) Etue. Also surviving are niece, Kelly Arndt; and nephews, Jack and Bob Vergiels, Frank Shuff, Jr., and William Etue, Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Friday, March 18 from 3-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd., with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will begin Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home and continue with the Funeral Mass in Regina Coeli Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Sorry to hear that Gary passed away. He fought a courageous battle. When I stopped to talk to him he was always very upbeat and positive; he was an inspiration to all. Our thoughts and prayers go to his family at this difficult time.

Linda, Jennie, Stacie, and the entire extended Hergenrather family. So very sad to hear of Garys passing. He was a great guy! Never saw him without a smile on his face. Gary was one of many respected mentors to me when I was beginning my Dana career at the Spicer Transmission Division in the mid '70s. Never too busy to help out, answer a question, or provide insight and advice. Sad to think we've lost another great guy from the Dana family. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time. Take heart in knowing that those who met Gary are all better people for having known him. Rest in peace my friend.

Sending my deepest condolences to Gary's family. I worked with Gary at the Toledo Dana Transmission plant. I bowled against Gary for many years while bowling in the Dana Bowling League. He was a great competitor. May you R.I.P. my old friend.

Linda and family, we are so very sorry to hear about Gary's passing. What a super nice guy, always so happy and kind My biggest memory of him was his huge smile and infectious laugh, combined with a big hug. He will certainly be missed. I am sorry but Bruce and I will be unable to attend his services but please know that we will be thinking of your whole family.
