Connie Hosselton

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Connie Lee Hosselton, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who departed this life on October 17, 2025, at the Coulterville Rehab and Health Center in Coulterville, IL. Connie was born on February 6, 1943, in Olney, IL. She was 82 years old.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband, William S. “Bill” Hosselton; her brothers, Bill Young, and Alton Dale “Sonny” Young; her sisters, Wanda (Thomas) Taylor and Patricia Gallion; twin grandsons, Dalton, and Dillon Hosselton; and her sister-in-law, Reveta Black.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will be carried on by her family.

She is survived by her three sons: William “Bill” Hosselton Jr. of Clay City, IL; Greg (Jill) Hosselton of Manteno, IL; and Ryan (Crystal) Hosselton of Carterville, IL; and by her sister, Karen (late Jim) Miller of Noble, IL.

Connie was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren — Cole Hosselton, Cheyenne Edwards, Derrick (Alexis) Hosselton, Drew Hosselton, Destiny Phillips, and Eva Hosselton — and four great-grandchildren: Brynlee Hosselton, Cooper Taylor, and Carley Taylor, and Rowan Edwards.

Connie's family was her pride and joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Connie will be remembered by many for her years of service as a cook at the Clay City School District, where she lovingly prepared meals for hundreds of children. A talented baker, she created countless wedding cakes that graced celebrations throughout the area. Connie was also a skilled quilter and a proud member of the Clay City Quilt Guild, as well as a devoted member of Zif Baptist Church in Clay City, IL.

An avid antique collector, she especially cherished her collection of Depression glass. She enjoyed line dancing and delighted in many peaceful hours watching and feeding her beloved hummingbirds. Above all, Connie deeply loved her family and grandchildren, who will miss her greatly.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Connie's life at Hosselton Meridith Funeral Home in Cisne, on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 2:00 p.m. with burial in Clay City Cemetery.

Donations may be made to Zif Baptist Church in her memory, honoring her commitment to her faith and community and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Connie Lee Hosselton will be remembered for her warm smile, her generous and stubborn spirit, and her unwavering love for her family. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of her loved ones, in the quilts she crafted, and in the stories shared about her life.
