Connie Lynn Bates Jaye, age 71 of Yukon, Oklahoma passed away on June 28th. She is the daughter of the late Charles E. Bates and Lynda W. Shepherd.
Connie said she lived a complete life because she had a son AND a daughter. She loved Sean and Karma unconditionally and their families meant everything to her. God provided her with a joyful heart and radiant smile that beamed anytime she spoke of them or her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Connie had a great attitude about life and cared for others like they were her own. Everyone knew when she walked into a room because she made you feel like you were the most important person there when she saw you. God blessed her with the natural talent of making you feel like you were a gift. She loved socializing with friends and family, traveling and discovering new places; Connie was an adventurer! Her loved ones said she never met a stranger. When you met her, she would immediately adopt you as a friend and treat you as though you were family. Connie walked with God daily and prayed for others. Her children admired the commitment to her faith and she prayed with her daughter often.
She spent 37 years taking care of plants at businesses and enjoyed meeting different people at every location. She would find special gifts to bring to her friends she met and loved to have the freedom of not working in one place during the workday. Many of her friends would give her their plants because she had a knack for bringing them back to life. The most important role Connie played was being a caregiver to her children when they were growing up. She was involved with every aspect of their schooling, sports, activities and they felt confident that she always supported and believed in them. Later in her life she helped take care of her stepfather, Johnny Shepherd, and then her mother, Lynda Shepherd.
Connie is survived by her son Sean Singer and wife Tracie Singer, their children Emily and Chase Singer; then her daughter Karma Travis and her husband Greg Travis, their children Chelsea Calvin, and husband Anthony Calvin, Abby Jones and Nick Travis. Her great-grandchildren are Blakely, Jenson, Luke and Olivia Calvin, and Aspen Wirth. She is also survived by her brother; Gary Bates, and her sisters; Cathy Gunter and Lynda Malinowski. We pray her light shines down from Heaven to guide these grandchildren and great-grandchildren she adored so much.
Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Yukon, OK. with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery.

Connie and I have known each other, and been friends, since elementary school at Werner Park. Then Midway Jr. High, and Fair Park. I got to see, and hug her at our 50th class reunion in 2018. It was like her, to make you feel so very special when she hugged me back. I will miss that radiant smile. My heartfelt prayers for all the family. She has her wings now
