In Loving Memory of Connie Jo Jones (Madsen)
October 24, 1957 - October 8, 2025
The world became a little brighter when Connie was born, and a little dimmer when she left it. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she lived her life with a big heart, a generous and enduring spirit, and an endless capacity to love others.
She was the beloved mother of Hannah Salazar (Anthony Salazar), Michael Jones, and Liam Jones, and the proud grandmother of Maria Skinner, Christopher Salazar, and Annalee Salazar-each of whom inherited her compassion, sense of humor, and love of music.
Connie was adopted at birth by Wallace and Dorothy Madsen, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her brother, Steve Madsen.
In her youth, she met and married Scott Jones, and together they raised three wonderful children. Though they eventually went their separate ways, Connie and Scott remained lifelong friends who shared not only their love for their children but also a great affection and countless stories between them.
For over 30 years, Connie cared for others as a nurse in nearly every field imaginable. Her compassion didn't stop when she left the hospital-later in life, she worked as a personal driver, going far beyond "point A to point B" to ensure her clients felt seen, safe, and cared for.
Forever a hippie at heart, Connie could always be found dancing-at the 4th of July celebration, the Shady Grove Music Festival, or in the kitchen while stirring a pot of her famous homemade chicken noodle soup. She had a gift for mending damaged stuffed animals, broken hearts, and cherished memories, and was affectionately known as "Mommy, finder of all lost things."
Illnesses in her home were treated not with medicine first, but with "jello juice" and warm snuggles.
Connie touched countless lives with her warmth, humor, and care. To know her was to be loved, to share laughs often, and-on occasion-to be fussed at (always with good reason). She once said she would believe in heaven when she saw it, and we know she's seeing it now-smiling down on all of us.
We will miss her music, her laughter, and her light.
Until we meet again, we'll keep dancing in her honor.
We love you, Momma.

Before my grandmother passed, I had gone to her trailer to stay the night due to some complications at home. I remember the day later we were sitting in her bed talking. She was showing me photos of new objects for her wire wrapping. I was snuggled next to her just looking at her in awe and admiring the love she held and her beauty. That was the last time I saw my g-mama. I now tell myself every time I look in the mirror that i'm beautiful. Just knowing how gorgeous she was and the features she passed down from my mom, to my uncles, to me and my little siblings, just makes me feeling beautiful even if I've never truly believed it myself. Today, I got a necklace of her ashes in the shape of a cross. I was reading a novel out loud to myself kind of quietly and found myself looking at the necklace on my chest and saying, "Grandma, can you believe this??" whenever something big happens. I now am reading my book fully out loud and speaking to my necklace and it feels almost like I'm talking to her again and rambling to her like I used to do about boys or school drama with friends and teachers. I'm gonna miss my grandma. She was the most extraordinary woman I have ever met and ever will meet. I hope your still dancing up there grandma. Never let go completely.
