Connie Marie Spangler (Phillips), of Blue Springs, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on October 1, 2021 at the age of 61.
Connie was born on July 5,1960 in Warrensburg, Missouri to Thomas and Carol (Lowderman) Phillips. She attended Raytown High School where she excelled as a student, played basketball, softball, and ran track; Connie graduated in 1978. Connie met her husband William (Bruce) Spangler in 1978 and married on June 5, 1981. They spent 40 years of building memories together. Connie dedicated her life to kids, she spent over 30 years working as a pre-school teacher and childcare director. Connie was a loving wife, dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, and coach.
Connie spent her retirement years with her kids and grandkids, traveling, fishing, crafting, reading, cheering on her Chiefs and Royals, and relaxing at her lake cabin with family. Connie was known to many as funny, loving, beautiful, accepting, and caring.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Carol Phillips, aunt Doris Moss, uncle Raymond Phillips, and grandchild Baby Petersen.
Connie is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband William (Bruce) Spangler, son Daniel Spangler and wife Samantha. Daughters Amy Simmons and husband Bryan, Sara Moss and significant other Adam Petersen, and precious puppy Daisy Mae. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Matthew, Colby, Audrey, Brooklyn, Hunter, Aspen, Chance, Boston, Maddison, Isabella, and Phoenix. She is also survived by her sister Tammie Harms and brother Thomas (Bo) Phillips and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 4-6pm at Speaks Suburban Chapel in Independence, Missouri. Connie's celebration of life will be held from 7-9pm immediately following at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Blue Springs, Missouri. Cremation is planned.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Connie.
