Connie Jean Murphy, 72, wife of Micheal David Murphy, passed away alongside her husband on Sunday, October 27, 2024. She was born in Prestonsburg, KY on May 11, 1952, to the late Irene Baldridge and Willie F. Clark. Mrs. Murphy had a master's in art from Eastern Kentucky University and worked as an art teacher for Fayette County schools.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Kristen McClure, Kara (Jared) Cosby; grandchildren, Sophia McClure, Delaney McClure, Camilla Cosby, Declan Cosby; and brother, Steve Clark.
In addition to her husband of over 45 years, she is preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Murphy was family oriented. She loved her grandchildren dearly and taking them camping was one of her favorite activities. She also had a desire for making pottery, shopping and loved to help people. Not only did Mrs. Murphy have an indescribable love for her family, she also adored her dog, Hazel.
To honor the life of Mrs. Murphy and her husband, Micheal, a gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 1-4pm at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lexington Humane Society.

I absolutely loved your parents. I was friends with them while Mike was still a police officer and Connie was working at a vision center. So many good times with them both. Mike loved your mother dearly and was a hard working, and fun loving man. Connie was one of the kindest and most generous people I have ever known. My daughter was lucky enough to have been one of her Art students. The framed drawings will serve us both as cherished memories of Sweet Connie.
