Connie Rasmussen

It is with great sorrow and love that the family of Connie Jean Rasmussen announce her passing on January 16, 2026.

A memorial service for Connie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Charles City with Pastor Russ Leeper officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held one hour prior to the memorial service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Connie Jean (Jergensen) Rasmussen was born April 14, 1938, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to James Jergensen and Anna (Pehl) Jergensen. Connie graduated from Kanawha High School and attended Waldorf College in Forest City, Iowa.

Connie married her sweetheart, Ron Rasmussen, on June 30, 1957, in Clear Lake, Iowa. She declared her love for her husband every day for the rest of her life. Connie was proud of her family.

Connie is survived by her husband Ron and her children, Julie (LeAnn) Rasmussen of Delaware, Jim (Beth) Rasmussen of Ankeny, and Joan (Corey) Locke of Oregon. She adored her grandchildren, Rachel Locke (Luis), Joe Rasmussen (Sarah), Jake Rasmussen (Molly), Erik Rasmussen (Audra), Nathan Locke (Haley), Jack Rasmussen (Anna), Melanie Wine (Andrew) and great grandchildren, Beckett Rasmussen, Isabelle Giron Locke, Hunter Rasmussen, Josie Rasmussen, Peter Rasmussen, Charlie Rasmussen and Benjamin Giron Locke.

Connie was preceded in death by her granddaughters, Kendall Locke and Mary Rasmussen, and sister, Janice Rose.

Connie worked for approximately 25 years in a variety of secretarial positions. Connie enjoyed collecting and selling antiques. She also enjoyed playing bridge, quilting, golfing and was a member of the Elks. She loved watching her flowers bloom in the warm months. Connie loved sharing her quilts with friends and family. She painted detailed wooden duck decoys, Easter eggs and glass Christmas ornaments. Connie cherished time with her family. She was the best grandma and great grandma, known for making a huge Thanksgiving dinner, cookies, puzzles and joyful hugs.
