CONNIE K. SALMANS Dodge City - Connie K. Salmans, 78, died September 22, 2023 at St. Catherine Hospital of Dodge City. She was born on September 15, 1945 in Dodge City, the daughter of Thomas and Lillian (Schechter) Dunn. Connie spent her childhood in Jetmore. She graduated from Jetmore High School in 1963. After graduation, Connie attended Sidney's Hairdressing College in Hutchinson. After obtaining her license, she went to work at Gerry's Beauty Shop in Jetmore until 1975. On February 15, 1975, Connie was united in marriage to Alan Salmans in Jetmore. After their marriage, the couple made their home in Dodge City. Connie worked at the Hair Hut in Dodge City for several years. After her sons were born, Connie stayed home to care for them. Later, she operated her own cleaning business. She enjoyed crocheting, cross stitch, and cooking. Connie became an Atlanta Braves fan and a car hobbyist, both things that she enjoyed doing with her family. Connie also loved to travel. She and Alan visited all 50 states during their marriage. She was a member of Grace Community Church in Dodge City. Connie is survived by her husband Alan of Dodge City; two sons, Chad Alan Salmans of Kansas City, Missouri and Brandon Scott Salmans and wife Michelle of Lawrence; and a grandson, Ozy Salmans of Lawrence. She is preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Wayne Dunn, Wanda Berger, and Jack Dunn. Funeral service will be held at Grace Community Church, Dodge City on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Kirk Larson presiding. Burial will be at 2:00 PM, Wednesday afternoon, at Fairmount Cemetery in Jetmore. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 from noon to 8:00 PM with the family receiving friends from 5-7 PM.
