Connie White Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Scott Funeral Home on Feb. 24, 2026.
Connie Sue (Easterday) White, 78 of Sellersburg, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of beauty, laughter, music, and deep, abiding love for her family.

Born to the late Robert W. and Margie Corrine (Hayes) Easterday, Connie carried her warmth and kindness with her wherever she went. For many years, she was the heart and soul behind the chair at Hairbenders Jungle, a salon in New Albany. As a longtime beautician, she didn't just style hair - she lifted spirits. Connie delighted in the "before and after," watching her regulars leave her chair a little lighter, a little brighter, and always smiling. She could talk, console, counsel, and laugh with the best of them. Time in Connie's chair was part therapy session, part comedy show, and always filled with love.

At home, Connie's hands were rarely still. She was an avid gardener who lovingly tended her flowers, creating little bursts of color and joy wherever she planted them. She had a soundtrack for every mood and was always jamming to her wonderfully eclectic mix of music. Whether it was something soulful, spirited, or just plain fun, Connie believed life was better with good tunes playing in the background...as loudly as possible! Her evenings followed a rhythm all their own. She faithfully tuned in to Yellowstone, Land Man, and Blue Bloods, but no day was complete without watching Family Feud and Wheel of Fortune - always followed by her nightly treat of ice cream. It was her simple, perfect ending to the day.

Connie attended Eastside Christian Church, where she found comfort in her faith and community. Above all else, Connie adored her family. She treasured being "MaMaw," happiest when covered in grandbabies, laughter echoing through the house and the joyful pitter-patter of little feet during slumber parties. Those moments - sticky fingers, bedtime giggles, and all - were her greatest blessings.

Connie was preceded in death by her brother, Robert M. Easterday, and her beloved doggies - Hunter, Cody, and Maggie - who no doubt greeted her in Heaven with wagging tails. She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Frank White of Sellersburg; her daughter, Tracy (Larry) Fullerton of Sellersburg; her son, Todd (Natalie) White of Sellersburg; her cherished grandchildren, Olivia (Adam), Hannah (Kaleb), Trevor, Conner, Hillary, Isabella, and Addison; and four great-grandchildren, Caroline, Everett, Sienna, and Bella. She also leaves behind her loving Shelties, Luke & Cooper, who never left her side.

Connie's life was one of beauty - not just the kind she created in the salon, but the kind she cultivated in her garden, in her home, and in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Scott Funeral Home (2515 Veterans Parkway). Friends may visit from Noon until service time.

Her chair may now be empty, but the love, laughter, and light she brought into this world will continue to shine through her family for generations to come.
