Conrad Stephen "Steve" Gapp age 85, of Moorefield, WV passed away Saturday evening, May 27, 2023 at the Winchester Medical Center in Winchester, VA Born on February 19, 1938 in the Shadow of Charlies Knob, he was the son of the late Matthew Frank "Shank" Gapp and the Late Dora Elizabeth Watts Gapp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Linda Alice Gapp, a son Tyke Gapp and a brother Matthew G Gapp.
Steve was 1956 Graduate of Moorefield High School and a very proud United States Marine Corps veteran. Upon completing service in the Marine Corps he worked in Washington DC as a bus driver until he started working in the automotive field and then a service manager at the Chevy dealership in the DC/Metro area. Upon returning to Moorefield, he owned and operated Gapp's Esso, Gapp's Gulf Station, Traders Automart and G&S Motors with his sons until his retirement. He was a past member of Moorefield Volunteer Fire Department, enjoyed hunting and going to Car Shows with his Olds 442's.
Surviving is one sister Patsy Hudson of Williamsport MD, two sons Matt Gapp and wife Becky of Moorefield, WV and Anthony Gibson and wife Kimberly of Catlettsburg, KY; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a special niece Connie Thomas and husband Mike.
Per Steve's wishes he has been cremated and a private service will be held at a later date.
