Conrad was dedicated to his family. He worked hard and loved harder. Working over 35 years at Ford Motor Company he was always willing to work overtime, double time, even triple time without a second thought. He never complained and did it so he could share his wealth. He was generous and unwavering in his loyalty, to his family, friends, or if he just liked you. And if he did like you, you knew because he would do anything for you; give you money, get you a job, or find a way to get you what you needed. And that was always the end of it, he never gave expecting anything back, he found joy in helping others. He promised to bring his wife's family to this country, which he did. They were never just her family, they were his too. He truly loved them as his own.
Conrad loved trips, reading, going out to eat, and attending church. He loved going for "a spin." Most of all with company, whether family or friend. He loved living and loved sharing his joy with those he cared for. He knew the things that mattered most and spent his life on those priorities, family, faith, and love.
Conrad was brave and fearless. And not just willing to stand up and fight if needed. But he stood for something, not because anyone else was standing with him, but because he knew the right thing and did it. He loved his wife with his whole heart and soul. She was his everything. He would say, "The first time I saw her, I knew she was it for me." He never doubted or strayed. His heart was loyal and fierce. If she wanted something, he would get it for her. She had to be careful what she asked for, most often it showed up. He was proud of the life and family they built, and how it grew. He never thought the guest list was too long, or that's too many kids, or about the cost, he enjoyed his home full of the people he loved.
Conrad loved sports, especially University of Michigan, by far his favorite. He loved cheering on his children and grandchildren. Celebrating not just athletic accomplishments, he celebrated all the accomplishments of family and friends. He was there in times of trouble too, never a fair-weather friend.
Conrad was humble and forgiving. He loved and was loved. His sense of humor, outgoing personality, and pure heart. It was a gift to be loved by him and know it. To know that if you needed help, he would be there. Theres not enough time or space to fully capture him in writing, he could be rough around the edges, but his heart was gold. He was never found hopeless and lived with strong faith and hope in Christ, and believed in his forgiveness. He will be missed.
