Conrado Ramos M.D., 89, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2026. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who cherished his family, and a longtime resident of
Fountain Hills, Arizona and Carlsbad, New Mexico.
He was born on November 26, 1936 in the province of Batangas in the Philippines to Eustaquio and Constancia (Manalo) Ramos. He grew up with very little, but learned at a young age to work and study hard. He graduated with high honors from the University of the Philippines Medical School in 1962 and was fortunate to further his studies in the United States where he completed his internship in Chicago and residency in New York. He became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and successfully practiced Urology for more than 40 years.
While in Chicago, Conrado met the love of his life, Lourdes Nablo, at a wedding. They quickly fell in love and were married prior to her joining him in New York City. The couple enjoyed going to Radio City Music Hall and visiting the many sights in and around Manhattan. They soon had four children and decided to move out of the city to Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Conrado enjoyed attending his children's many activities and performances, yet he was also active in the medical field and in his community. In addition to serving his many patients in private practice, he served as President of the Medical Staff at Guadalupe Medical Center and volunteered his time to athletes offering free physicals at the local schools. He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Carlsbad.
He loved his family and friends, enjoyed playing golf and walking long distances, and took great pleasure in good jokes. He had a warm smile and fun nature that made those privileged to be around him happy and cheerful. He was clever, quick-witted, extremely intelligent, and always ready to lend a helping hand whether in the operating room or the living room, or the kitchen where he always wanted to prepare a delicious and healthy meal for you. He and his beautiful wife Lourdes spent decades traveling, exploring their favorite continent Europe where he was always ready for a new adventure.
Conrado is survived by his wife Lourdes (Nablo) Ramos, and his children Michael Mark Ramos (Rosalynn Ramos), Carolyn Ramos Kimzey (William Kimzey) and Michelle Ramos Kleman (Paul Kleman); grandchildren Raphael (Nancy), Randy (Crystal), Marice, Grace (fiancé Dominic), Carolyn, Nathan, Harrison, Noah and Leah; and great grandchildren Ashton, Arlo, Adalee, Mikael, Logic, and the newest baby expected next month. He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings Miguel, Benito, Benilda and Candido; and a daughter Christine E. Ramos.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, February 2, 2026 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Centennial, Colorado. The Holy Rosary will be prayed at 10:15 a.m. before mass.
