Constance Bartlo, a vibrant, free spirit and self-described "human hurricane," passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, in Novi, Michigan, at the age of 94. Born on October 5, 1931, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, she lived a life defined by energy, compassion, humor, and devotion to both her family and her profession.
A proud Registered Nurse, she dedicated her career to the care of others and served as Director of Nursing at Nightingale Westland, where her leadership and commitment left a lasting impact on patients and colleagues alike. Her natural ability to lead with both strength and empathy earned her respect throughout the healthcare community.
Outside of work, she embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She found peace and a creative outlet in painting and drawing, laughter in fishing trips, and camaraderie on the golf course in her earlier years. A loyal University of Michigan football fan, Saturdays in the fall were sacred. She also loved her long walks, often reflecting her energetic spirit and zest for life.
She was a dedicated member of the Rotary Club, embodying its values of service and community. Among her many accomplishments, nothing brought her greater pride than her family-especially her three sons, who were the center of her world.
She is survived by her beloved sons, Mark and Frank, who carry on her legacy of resilience and kindness. She is now reunited with her husband, Leonard, and their cherished son, Joe, who both preceded her in passing.
She will be remembered as a force of nature-fierce in her love, boundless in her energy, and deeply committed to those around her. Her life touched many, and her spirit will live on in the stories, laughter, and love shared by those who knew her.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on November 2nd at 11:00 am at New Hope Unitarian Universalist Church in New Hudson, Michigan.
