Constance Carson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Firtion Adams Funeral Service on Apr. 15, 2023.
Constance "Connie" B. Carson, 87, passed away peacefully on April 9th, 2023. Born in Hartford, CT, the daughter of the late Eugene and Antionette (Dieli) Lazzaro, she attended Buckley High School in Hartford and went on to get her Registered Nursing degree from Cooly-Dickenson Hospital in Northampton, MA in 1956. Connie was a long-time resident of Westfield, MA. While raising her family, Connie went back to school to renew her R.N. License in 1981 and worked at Noble Hospital until she retired as Charge Nurse in 2001. She leaves her three loving sons, James Carson Jr. and his companion Gina and her son Evan; Kenneth Carson and his wife Kim, their two sons Alex (Isabela) and Mitchell; Jeffrey Carson and his wife Audrey, their children Alyssa, Andrew, Samantha (Jim), Kaleigh and Zachary; her step-daughter Debbie Case and husband Chris of Conneaut, OH and their children Mathew and Rebecca; her grandson Christopher Hanchett and granddaughter Shannon Bates; her sister Anna Sena of Glastonbury, CT; and three great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Connie was pre-deceased by her daughter Cynthia in 2012, her brothers Anthony and Francis Lazzaro, and her sister Edith Santi. Connie was a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary's Parish. She enjoyed her puzzles, occasional cruises with her friends, and loved her Bingo where she would occasionally win "a couple of bucks". Connie will be missed most for her kindhearted, unselfish, and benevolent spirit. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at St. Mary's Church, 30 Bartlett St, Westfield, MA on Saturday, April 22nd at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of her daughter Cynthia to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215 or online at danafarber.org. firtionadams.com

Connie was my favorite aunt, who also was very close to my dear mother, Anna Sena, the eldest of the five Lazzaro siblings who will be a centenarian this year. I could always talk freely with Connie on subjects I found difficult to discuss due to her open-minded, non-judgmental, loving and generous nature. She took me to my first psychic at the age of 18, introducing me to the hidden magic and mysteries of our world. We stayed in touch and could always easily pick up right where we left off despite the many miles that separated us after my move to California over 40 years ago. She was the humble keeper of many secrets who never ceased to surprise me along with her casual humor and common sense wisdoms shared during many memorable visits across the kitchen table. As a loving presence and wise caregiver, she leaves behind grateful footprints on the hearts of the many lives she so generously touched along her blessed path.
