Connie was born on December 31, 1948, to Alphonse and Alice (Wagner) Beert. She grew up in Morgan, attended St. Michael’s Catholic School, and graduated from Morgan High School. She worked at Zytec, Daktronics, and Arteysn in Redwood Falls, retiring in 2013, though she continued to help and work on the family farm. Throughout the years, she enjoyed participating in softball and bowling leagues. The lake, her family and friends, and the joy of music and dancing filled her heart, and the song “Running Bear” never failed to bring a smile to her face.
Connie is survived by her spouse, Gary Kodet of Clements; her children, Jeffery (Rondi) Kodet of Redwood Falls, Lonnie (Jessica) Kodet, and Christine (Nick) Heiling of Morgan; and her eleven grandchildren—Emmily, Kalli, Macie, Sophie, Katie, Brooke, Jake, Ryder, Ahlaina, Madison, and Kenadi—who will carry her legacy forward in their hearts. Also surviving are her siblings, Russel (Ruth) Beert of Redwood Falls and Leonard (Delores) Beert of Onamia; brother-in-law, Derold Lund; and sisters-in-law, Marty Beert and Sharon Holmes. She was preceded in death by her brother, David Beert, and sisters, Rosemary Lund and Kathleen Griffin.
After a long battle with Alzheimer’s, Connie is now at peace in the Lord’s care, free from pain and restored in spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories, and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
May she rest in peace.
