Ville Platte, LA - Constance Marie “Connie” Fontenot, known for her kindhearted nature and love for her family, passed away on October 25, 2023, in her hometown of Ville Platte, at the age of 62. Born on September 4, 1961, to the late Cleveland Fontenot and Mary Lou Bourque, Constance brought joy and warmth to the lives she touched.
Constance, a proud resident of Ville Platte, cherished her community and proudly supported her beloved New Orleans Saints. She could often be found cheering on her favorite NFL team with enthusiasm and unwavering loyalty. Constance had a vibrant spirit and loved to dance, especially when her favorite cajun music performer, Wayne Toups, graced the stage.
As a cashier in the food and grocery industry, Constance greeted each customer with a smile and made their shopping experience a pleasant one. Her exemplary work ethic and dedication were a testament to her strong character.
Constance embraced her faith and was a devout Christian. She found solace and strength in her relationship with God, guiding her actions and interactions throughout her life. Despite her limited formal education, Constance possessed an innate wisdom and provided love and support to her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Tonya Broussard; son, Joseph Brandon Manuel; mother, Mary Lou Bourque; sisters, Patricia Ann Veillon and Mary Melissa “Lisa” Fontenot; grandchildren, Jaylon, Mariah, and Brandy; great-grandchildren, Nasen and Jacelyn; godchildren, Chris Veillon and Jessica Ortego; two aunts, one uncle, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home of Ville Platte followed by a Celebration of Constance's life which will be held at 1:00 PM.
Constance Marie Fontenot will forever be remembered for her kindhearted spirit, unwavering faith, and love for her family. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of those she leaves behind and will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
