Constance Hershey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Roseboro Stradling Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. - Denver on Feb. 2, 2026.
Constance "Connie" Lee Hershey, 74, of Denver passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Ephrata to the late Clifford and S. Kathryn (Lindberg) Gensemer, Connie was the wife of Geoffrey Hershey, her partner in life and love for 54 years. Together they built a life full of love and laughter that revolved around family and friends.

Connie was one of those rare people who made everyone feel instantly comfortable in her presence. She was outgoing, funny, kind, and compassionate, bringing laughter and joy wherever she went. Her laugh was contagious, her presence magnetic, and her heart was generous. She was truly one of a kind.

Family was everything to Connie. She deeply loved her husband, children, and their extended families. As well as her siblings, their spouses, her niece and nephews, and their families. Time with them was always time well spent. Though without a doubt, the absolute greatest joy of her life was her five grandchildren. They were the center of her world. Family vacations, celebrations, everyday moments, and especially watching her grandchildren play sports filled her heart completely. Connie was a constant, enthusiastic presence in the stands at Cocalico sporting events, and they will never quite be the same without her cheering them and their teammates on.

Connie was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Denver. During her working years, she was a bank teller at Fulton Bank, where her warmth and personality made lasting impressions. She enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, and walks with her grand dogs. She treasured trips to the beach and the family cabin in Adams County with family and friends. Vacations with her girlfriends filled her with love and joy and were the source of countless stories and laughs. To her, friends were family and she loved them just as much.

Above all else, Connie was deeply loved by her family, her friends, and everyone fortunate enough to cross paths with her. She was one of the most kind, genuine, and magnetic people to ever grace this earth, and her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her. Her compassionate and genuine spirit will live on in all who loved her, especially in her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Geoffrey, she is survived by her daughter, Stacey, wife of Tom Smith of Denver; her son, Greg, husband of Ashley (Hoppel) Hershey of Denver; her five grandchildren, Max, Avery, and Sam Hershey, and Connor and Aidan Sola; and her brothers, Larry, husband of the late Gale Gensemer of Denver, and Brian, husband of Lorrie Gensemer of Denver.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at St. Paul's EC Church, 46 E. Church Street, Reamstown, followed by a memorial service officiated by Pastor Michael Roney. Interment will be private in the Fairview Cemetery Annex.

Memorial contributions in Connie's memory may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 420 Main Street, Denver, PA 17517.
