Constance Kortan Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 3, 2025.
Constance "Connie" Jean Kortan, age 88, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on July 23, 1937, in Detroit, Michigan, to Kathryn and Allen Rutz, Connie lived a full and beautiful life devoted to her family.

Family was everything to Connie. She was the most loving wife, mom, and grandma anyone could ask for - always caring, always giving, and always putting others first. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Edward "Eddie" Kortan; her daughters, Randi Weaver (Marty) and Kimberly Gurley (Phil); her beloved grandchildren, Chad Lyons (Robyn), Curt Lyons (Marlena), Christina Siburt (Jason), Casie Quillen (Josh), and Laura Sayers (John); and her treasured great-grandchildren - Austin, Kaitlin, Brayden, Riley, Tinley, Maddy, Charlotte, Reece, Lincoln, Reagan, and Maren - who affectionately called her "Grandma Great."

A private family service will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Corewell Health Hospice or the Ionia Commission on Aging.

Connie will be remembered for her unconditional love, her caring heart, and her unwavering devotion to family - the foundation of her beautiful life.
