Constance Anne “Connie” McClain, age 62, of Mount Pleasant, Tennessee, arrived at her Heavenly Home on Wednesday March 4th. Connie was born on September 22, 1963, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Eugene Searson and Vivian Bates Searson. She spent her entire life rooted in the small town of Mount Pleasant, a place she loved deeply and where she built a life filled with family, friendship, and wonderful memories.
Connie attended Mount Pleasant schools and later continued her education at Columbia State Community College, where she graduated from the LPN program. She dedicated her career to caring for others, beginning in nursing homes where she compassionately cared for her patients. Her love for the medical field continued to grow, and she later worked for many years at Maury Regional Medical Center. During her time there, Connie not only cared for countless patients but also formed many cherished friendships that lasted throughout her life. After her time at Maury, her love for medical care didn’t end there. She continued to private sit for several special families for years.
To know Connie was to love her. She was a beautiful soul and truly a child at heart. Connie never met a stranger; and if she did, she spoke to them and treated them with grave kindness. She was the kind of person who would go out of her way to help anyone in need, often putting others before herself without a second thought.
Her heart was full of love, especially for the people who meant the most to her—her late husband, her daughter, and her grandson. Connie was married to the one and only love of her life, Raymond “Doug” McClain, for 29 wonderful years. Together they built a beautiful life and home, filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.
Connie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond “Doug” McClain; her parents, Vivian and Eugene Searson; Brother-in-law, Kenneth Morton; Sisters-in-law, Olivia “Libby” Benderman, Bobbye Chappell, and Betty Lee; several beloved aunts and uncles; her precious niece, Amanda Kincaid; and one of her dearest friends, Donna Kaye King.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Payton McClain (Jemoine Hurst); beloved grandson, Jrake Hurst; her sisters, Tammy Willis (Kenny Wallace) and Cindy Morton; life-long best friend, Janet (Kenny) Floyd, and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her deeply.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 10, at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at McClain Cemetery on Mount Joy Road.

Honorary Pallbearers: Terry “Rooster” Holder and Johnny Whitehead.
