Constance L. "Connie" Provard, age 97, of Waynesboro, PA passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Laurel Lakes Nursing Home in Chambersburg, PA. Born December 6, 1926, in Upton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Reynard and Hazel Gossard Johns.
Mrs. Provard worked as a homemaker for most of her adult life. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Waynesboro, a former long-time member of TOPS PA 1003, and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans of Chambersburg, PA. She enjoyed cooking, flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren, greats, and great –greats, especially the babies.
She is survived by one daughter, Lana Provard of Waynesboro, PA, 10 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 35 great-great grandchildren, a son-in-law, Kenneth Izer of Greencastle, PA, and one sister, Deanna Sanchez of Greencastle, PA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Provard in 2001; a daughter, Sandy Izer; a son, Jerry L. "Larry" Provard; grandson, Shawn Provard; two great-great grandsons, Axel Harp and Roan Izer; and a number of siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 11 AM in the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA, where Pastor John Scahill will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 6-8 PM and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Thursday. Interment will follow the service in Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg, PA.
