Constance Thompson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by E. F. Boyd & Son Funeral Home-89th Chapel - Cleveland on Mar. 18, 2026.
Constance (Connie) Thompson was born on May 7, 1931 in Cleveland, OH to Frankie and James Humes. She went to heaven on February 11, 2026.
Connie lived in the Cleveland area her entire life. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from The Ohio State University where she joined the AKA sorority on campus. Connie met her future husband James (Red) Thompson while attending college.
Connie and Red were married after graduation. They had two children, James (Jim) and Lorraine (Rainey). Jim remembers many parties his parents had with their club, Guys and Dolls. There was a lot of laughter, music and great food. The Thompsons knew how to throw a party.
Connie was a Cleveland elementary school teacher for 30 plus years and found great joy in that. There were several times over the years when she purchased school supplies and coats for needy children in her classes.
The Thompsons were members of St. James AME church in Cleveland. Connie was a faithful Christian and very involved in the church. She taught Sunday school for many years.
Connie enjoyed camping and houseboat trips with her family. She loved to fish and definitely caught her fair share of whoppers!
Constance was predeceased by her loving husband James and dear daughter Lorraine. She leaves behind her beloved son Jim and his wife, her treasured daughter-in-law, Jill. She is also survived by her dearly loved grandson Robert (RJ) Berger. She was a fantastic mother, grandmother and friend. We will miss her dearly.
This is from Connie: "To my dear friends, thank you for sharing your life with me, you gave me so much joy. Love, Connie"
