Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Oakland ChapelConstance "Connie" Jean Tomlin, 85, of Swanton, passed from her earthly life on February 24, 2026, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on March 20, 1940, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John Edward and Doris Retowski Lucas.
Connie graduated from Eastern High School and was a preschool teacher at Northwood Apold School. She was a beloved member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church where she served as a parish council member, Sunday School Catechism Teacher and confirmation prep teacher as well as serving in numerous other volunteer positions. Connie loved her family, adored and took immense pride in her grandchildren, spoiled her two dogs Ruby and Cuddles, and lovingly embraced her mountain home and many dear friends that she made here.
She is survived by a son, Mark Lucas Tomlin and wife Terri of Rehoboth Beach, DE., grandchildren; Katherine Elizabeth Inch and husband Steve, Joshua Tomlin, Shane Tomlin, Conor Tomlin, Haley Tomlin, Liam Tomlin and Aiden Tomlin; great grandchildren, Wesley Inch, Blake Inch; daughter in law, Julie Tomlin; and siblings, Nancy Sica and husband Lou of Rosedale, MD., Dorie Ann Lucas Powers and husband Dave of Essex, MD., and numerous nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Leon Nelson Tomlin; and two sons, Thomas Nelson Tomlin and Nicholas John Tomlin.
The matriarch of a law enforcement family, we shamelessly admitted that she outranked us all. God speed, you were dearly loved and will be missed and fondly remember by many.
Mrs. Tomlin's wishes to be cremated have been honored, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 11 AM, in the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A.-Oakland Chapel, 21 N. 2nd St., Oakland. A continued celebration of life will be held immediately afterwards at the Donald M. Browning, Sr. Social Hall at Southern Garrett County Rescue Squad, 200 Baltimore Avenue, Oakland.
The Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes is honored to be serving the Tomlin family.
