Longtime West Springfield resident Constance (Northrup) Wickman, 89, died peacefully on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Springfield to the late Herbert and Alice (Damon) Northrup. She was a physical therapist and beloved preschool teacher for many years until her retirement. An avid Bridge player, Constance enjoyed gardening in the sunshine, swimming and visiting her local senior center. In addition to her parents, Constance was also predeceased by her husband Frederic Wickman, her daughter Laurie Wickman, her sister Susan Shaw and her grandson Eric Wickman. She will be sadly missed by her two devoted sons; Scott A. Wickman and his wife Alice of Hampden, MA and Jeffrey B. Wickman and his wife Tressa of Northport, FL, her five cherished grandchildren; Steven Wickman and his wife Kimberly, Julie Wickman and her wife Meghan, Justin Guagliardo and his wife Amanda, Kayla Granger and her husband Darren, and Jessica Wickman, along with four adored great grandchildren; Nathaniel Wickman, Emma Wickman, and Aspen and Beckham Granger. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 6th from 11:00 AM- 12:00 Noon, concluding with a Funeral Service at 12:00 Noon at Toomey O’Brien Funeral Home, 1043 Westfield St., West Springfield. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Assn., 320 Nevada St., Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460 or to the charity of one’s choice.
