Dino was a treasured friend and client for many many years. He took both my husband and I up in the Stearman . It is one of my happiest memories, of an excellent day with a dear friend. My sincere condolences Kate, not a time spent with your Dad did he fail to mention you, and how proud he was of you and your life. Hugs!

I met Dino sometime in 1969 on a Pan American flight to Lisbon. I was a stewardess then. During the layover, Dino and I walked through town, stopping here and there so Dino could take photos. He was quite the photographer, and his camera always accompanied him. But I mainly know Dino as a friend of my late husband, Captain I. J. Duncan. Ian and Dino shared the same day of hire with Pan American, July 6th 1964. Ever since, for years, on July 6th Dino and Ian spoke on the phone and congratulated each other. Dino visited us in New Milford, Ct. And we saw him and his family in New Hamphire. My son Alec still remembers the ride with Dino in his Stearman. That was over forty years ago. Alec was six then. After the death of my husband, Dino and I stayed in touch. He was a proud grandfather and shared photos of Luca. The last time I saw Dino was at the Pan American Museum Gala, November 2022. He was in excellent sprits and took to the dance floor with my granddaughter Sydney. The photo shows Dino between me and Kim, my daughter-in-law. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Dino still fit into his Pan American uniform. Dino was a generous, caring, wonderful friend, and a pleasure to fly with on Pan American. I hope Dino had a safe landing wherever his final flight took him, and I wish to see him and my husband reunited upon arrival. I extend my condolences to Dino's family, especially daughter Kate, her partner, and their son Luca.

I remember Mr. Vlahakis at all the sports games in junior high and loved seeing him around town as an adult in his Mustang, about which he was always happy to chat! He was a very sweet man, my condolences to Kate and family.
