Constantinos “Gus” Metaxas, 62, passed away suddenly on December 3, 2025. Born in Manhattan, Gus spent most of his life on Long Island, where he built deep roots and strong connections with the people he loved.
For the past 22 years, Gus shared his life with his fiancée, Gemma Triquet. Together they traveled across Europe, returning often to Paris and to Greece to visit Gus’s family—a place that always held a special piece of his heart.
Gus had two daughters, Nicollette Wodecki (Adrian) and Alexandra Metaxas. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister, Helen Alifano (Louis); his nephew, Charles Alifano; his stepfather, Eric Dressler; and his many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his mother, father, stepmother, and grandparents.
A natural handyman, Gus was always ready to lend a hand. His generosity, warmth, and spirited personality made him unforgettable. He loved to cook, enjoyed the occasional cigar, and was known to say goodbye with a great big bear hug—something friends and family will miss dearly. He loved to talk, especially about the spices and bottles of alcohol he collected during his travels. He loved spending time in Pennsylvania, and in retirement, Gus was looking forward to building a log home. Professionally, Gus dedicated his career to the aerospace industry, where he served as a respected Quality Director.
Services will be held on Thursday, December 11, from 2–4 PM and 7–9 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Gus’s name to a dog or cat rescue organization of your choice.
