Consuelita "Connie" Bernadine Lopez Walker (79) passed away March 4, 2024, peacefully at home.
Connie was born June 30, 1944, to Margarito Lopez and Dora Dolorea Torres of Bingham Canyon, Utah. She graduated Valedictorian from Bingham High School.
Connie worked several jobs, later retiring from AT&T, where she excelled winning several awards. The best job Connie excelled at was being a loving mother: always kind, caring and she loved with her whole heart.
She met her husband John Austin Walker while working at a 7/11 and were married April 24, 1972. Together they raised 6 children in their West Jordan home: Bernadette DeFisher, Shawnie Glore, Jolene Cox (Dave), Trinna Williams (Devin), John Brian Walker (Mollie), Rodney Austin Walker (Marianne).
Connie took great pride in her home (castle) from her breath-taking floral planters to her unforgettable holiday decorations. She worked countless hours making sure every detail was perfect. Connie had an incredible talent to bring joy to anyone who saw her home or was able to taste her divine cooking. You never left hungry, just craving for more.
Connie is survived by her husband; children; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren with 2 more on the way, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by father, Margarito Lopez; mother, Dora Dolorea Torres Lopez; infant Johnny James-1 and Johnny James-2, David L. "Lino", and Alex Albert Lopez.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 8, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 7405 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah. A Viewing will be held, Thursday, March 7, 2024, 6-7:30 p.m. followed by a reading of the obituary, a song, and a short talk to honor Connie at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 South Redwood Road, Taylorsville, Utah.
Interment, Murray City Cemetery, 5490 South Vine Street, Murray, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Intermountain Health Care Cancer Association.
