Consuelo G. Ramos

Consuelo G. Ramos, age 92, of Poteet, Texas, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 27, 1932 to her father, Refugio H. Guzman Jr. and mother, Feliz S. Guzman. As a child, Chelo remembered picking strawberries from a patch off School Drive with her mom, near where her son, Richard, and daughter, Vicki reside. She met Antonio Ramos Jr., and they married on January 16, 1955, in a small Catholic Church, by Padre Cabrera. Chelo was a great homemaker, raising 11 children, and, in later years, loved visits from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a lifelong member of St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, as well as a member of Llamas de Amor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio B. Ramos; father, Refugio H. Guzman Jr. and mother, Feliz S. Guzman; brothers, Jose Alfonso S. Guzman, Jose Luis S. Guzman, and Salvador S. Guzman; sister, Maria De La Luz S. Guzman; sons, Robert G. Ramos and John G. Ramos.
She is survived by brother Enrique Guzman (Dora); sister Olivia G. Trevino. Children, Antonio Ramos III, Vicki Catala (Fred), Richard Ramos (Mary), Arturo Ramos, Rodolfo G. Ramos Sr., Frank Ramos (Anita), Ed J. Ramos (Irene), Rosemary Lopez (Roger), Luis Ramos (Michelle); Grandchildren; Becky Olveda (Luis), Marissa Ramos, Antonio Ramos IV (Sophia), Andrea Ramos, Freddy Catala (Lucy), Patricia Catala, Jesse Ramos, Frankie Ramos, L. Benjamin Ramos, Sara White (Scott), Simon Rodriguez, Sam Rodriguez (Tamara), Alexis Ramos, April Benjamin (Kendal), Rodolfo Ramos Jr., Catarina Martinez (Larry), Erik F. Ramos (Krystina), Cassandra F. Ramos, Xoe S. Howard (Sean Christopher), Azure S. Ramos, Tristan E. Ramos, Myranda Quijano (Paul J.), Megan Lopez (Scotty Martinez), Alec Vera (Kim Michaels), Alyssa Camacho (Roland), Amanda Ramos, Samantha Ramos, Emily Ramos and Luis A. Ramos. Great grandchildren; Brandon Olveda, Thomas Olveda, Elnora Ramos, Simon Rodriguez III, Athena Benjamin, Larry Martinez Jr., Layla Martinez, Erik E. Ramos II., Isabella Ramos, Derek J. Galvan, Arianna Lopez, Nikolai Garcia, Paul J. Quijano, Amelia Quijano, Josiah Martinez, Liliana Martinez, Rylee Martinez, Asher Vera, Alder Vera, Jude Betancourt and Amira Perez.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Gloria Montemayor. Thank you for the extreme love and care you provided in her later years. You were a great friend, and we know that she loved you very much, and so do we.
Visitation will be held at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church, 274 Avenue H., Poteet, Texas 78065 on Friday, January 24, 2025, starting at 4:00 PM with The Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Mass will be celebrated at St. Philip Benizi Catholic Church on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Madre Dolorosa Cemetery, 775 Old Jourdanton Rd. Poteet, Texas, 78065.
