In memory of
Abby McCann

I was fortunate enough to have known Cooper in my classes at Fox Ridge. Everyone who met him knew just how kind, intelligent, talented, and goofy he was. Unfortunately, we weren´t very close and hadn´t spoken much after 5th grade as we never had classes together in the following years. But the last memory I have of him is from the last day of senior year. Earlier that day, during 2nd hour, my teacher had talked to our class about the new laminated hall passes going missing. I thought nothing of it and carried on with my day - nobody I knew had taken them. I was a TA for Mr. Bulman´s 6th hour at the time, and Cooper happened to stop by during my class to say hi. We did some catching up and somehow got to talking about the hall passes with Bulman, when all of a sudden Cooper pulls out a pile of them from his backpack with this huge goofy grin on his face. It´s still one of my favorite memories from that year and I feel like it´s a good show of his personality. He always knew how to make people laugh. I´m thankful to have gotten to talk to him after so long. He will be missed dearly.

There simply is not one memory that could encompass how amazing Cooper was and how lucky I was to grow up with him. He was always the kindest, most determined, and most caring person. I will never forget all of our Fox Ridge memories and all the times we would hangout at with everyone before the East football games. He never failed to put a smile on everyone´s face and make me laugh. He will be missed so much by everyone he touched.

Cooper made valuable contributions to the outreach mission of the Illinois Mathematics Lab at the University of Illinois, participating in visits to schools, libraries, and after-school programs, and joining a project to develop new outreach materials. He was so generous with his time, intelligence, and creativity. My most sincere sympathy to all of his family.
