Cooper Ryan Ramos, 20, of St. Charles passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024, while attending college at the University of Illinois. Cooper was born on September 5, 2004, in Elmhurst, IL the son of Ruben and Janit (Sydorczuk) Ramos.
Cooper had an amazing, brilliant mind. As a child he would accomplish puzzles and problems far above his age class and complete with ease. Everyone close to Cooper knew he was special. He was witty, kind and funny. He loved a good prank and would even laugh at Dad's silly jokes. He would look at calculus, physics and mathematics problems as fun. He loved learning, he embraced education and was goal oriented. When it came to hobbies Cooper mastered music. He loved playing the viola, fiddle, moving to guitar, bass, then on to piano and drums. Following his passion for music Cooper played drums in high school and most recently in college he had been writing and mixing his own music. Cooper was a 2023 graduate of St. Charles East High School and was currently in his sophomore year at University to Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
He is survived by his loving parents, Ruben and Janit; his siblings, Damian Ramos, and Ashley Ramos; his paternal grandmother Adela Ramos, and (second mom) Aunt Mary Sydorczuk.
He will join his adored baby sister Lili Elise in heaven as well as his paternal grandfather Dagoberto Ramos and his maternal grandparents, Harriet Fitzsimmons and Wasyl Sydorczuk.
In honor of Cooper, please make a donation to The Cooper Ryan Ramos Memorial Fund. Donations to the fund will support charitable causes that will honor Cooper and carry out his memory for years to come.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at St. John Neumann Catholic Church 2900 West Main Street St. Charles, IL.

I was fortunate enough to have known Cooper in my classes at Fox Ridge. Everyone who met him knew just how kind, intelligent, talented, and goofy he was. Unfortunately, we weren´t very close and hadn´t spoken much after 5th grade as we never had classes together in the following years. But the last memory I have of him is from the last day of senior year. Earlier that day, during 2nd hour, my teacher had talked to our class about the new laminated hall passes going missing. I thought nothing of it and carried on with my day - nobody I knew had taken them. I was a TA for Mr. Bulman´s 6th hour at the time, and Cooper happened to stop by during my class to say hi. We did some catching up and somehow got to talking about the hall passes with Bulman, when all of a sudden Cooper pulls out a pile of them from his backpack with this huge goofy grin on his face. It´s still one of my favorite memories from that year and I feel like it´s a good show of his personality. He always knew how to make people laugh. I´m thankful to have gotten to talk to him after so long. He will be missed dearly.

There simply is not one memory that could encompass how amazing Cooper was and how lucky I was to grow up with him. He was always the kindest, most determined, and most caring person. I will never forget all of our Fox Ridge memories and all the times we would hangout at with everyone before the East football games. He never failed to put a smile on everyone´s face and make me laugh. He will be missed so much by everyone he touched.

Cooper made valuable contributions to the outreach mission of the Illinois Mathematics Lab at the University of Illinois, participating in visits to schools, libraries, and after-school programs, and joining a project to develop new outreach materials. He was so generous with his time, intelligence, and creativity. My most sincere sympathy to all of his family.
