Sarah Elizabeth Forsell of St. Charles, Illinois, passed away, surrounded by her loving family, on July 4, 2024, at the tender age of 20. Sarah was born April 10, 2004, to David and Andrea (Lovellette) Forsell at Mercy Hospital in Aurora, Illinois.
Sarah had such a creative, beautiful soul and even with her mental health struggles she persevered at everything she did through school, work, and everyday life. That was her amazing superpower, but unfortunately, she didn't realize how admirable it was. Sarah graduated from St. Charles East High School in 2022. She continued her education, with honors, at Elgin Community College in hopes of pursuing her degree in Art Illustration at NIU. She started working for the art department at ECC in June. Sarah was a talented artist at a very early age. Art was her life, not just a hobby. It was a calling, one that she pursued with dedication and enthusiasm. Through her years, she won several awards for her work, including first place in the DuKane Conference Art Show (which showcases art from HS students around the Chicagoland area). Her final project will be on display for the "Paint Our Town: In a Banner Way" at Mt. St. Mary Park in St. Charles July 22-September 21. Unfortunately, the banner was not quite completed but her close friends are honoring her by finishing the project for her.
Sarah loved listening to her music, anime, cosplaying, Japanese culture, and gaming, particularly Stardew Valley, that she would play with close friends. Sarah had a deep love for animals, especially dogs. Her dog, Willow, was her pride and joy and gave her comfort and strength during her mental struggles. Her first job was at a doggie day care, where she loved and cared for those dogs as her own.She always said she wanted to own a farm out in the country and fill it up with dogs who couldn't find forever homes.
Sarah was preceded in death by her Aunt Sara. She leaves behind her most loving and supportive family: parents, Dave and Andrea; brother, Cooper; "grandmas and grandpas", all from North Aurora, John and Judy Forsell and Dan and Jane Lovellette; Aunt Sheri and Uncle Rich, and cousins Shannon and Bridget, of Sugar Grove; Uncle Don and Aunt Amy, and cousins Emilie, Alex, Ben, and Ethan of Oswego. Sarah also had a large extended family of grand aunts, grand uncles, and cousins. Moreover, she had a core group of friends who will miss her deeply.
