John "Jack" R. Grzywa, Age 99, died peacefully in his daughter's home in LeRoy, Illinois on August 19, 2025. John was born August 27, 1925 in Fullerton, Nebraska to John and Barbara (Koziol). He moved with his family in 1942 to Maple Park, Illinois.

John joined the Navy in 1944 and proudly served his country in WWII. He married his love, Catherine Morrissey on October 22, 1949 after SHE proposed to him. They settled in St. Charles where they would live for 66 years while raising their family until her death in 2015.

John worked at Burgess Norton in Geneva for 36 years and retired in 1987. He was a loyal member of the American Legion Post 0342 for 80 years.

He was a devoted husband and father. He is preceeded in death by his parents, 3 brothers; Virgil, Richard and Tedd, 2 sisters; Joan and Dorothy, sons; Tommy, John, and Charles, and a daughter Mary. He is survived by his son Robert (Karon) Grzywa, Aurora, IL and Margaret Hearn, LE Roy, Illinois, 15 grandchildren, and 19 great grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will be held on August 27, 2025 from 9:30 am to the time of Mass at 10:30 am at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2900 E. Main Street, St. Charles, Illinois 60174. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Geneva, Illinois.
