Diane Forsell Obituary

Diane Marie Forsell, age 76, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2024, with her devoted children by her side after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's. She was born in Hermantown to Daniel and Jane McDonald. Diane graduated from Hermantown High School in 1966. In March 1967, she married Merlin "Butch" Forsell who was the love of her life. She has been missing Butch beyond measure since his passing in November 2021.
Diane is survived by her children: Jim Forsell (Becky) of Forest Lake and Kristi Poissant (Mike) of Duluth and preceded in death by her son, Danny Forsell.
Diane's love for family and friends was abundant. She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother. She dearly loved her grandchildren: Alex, Matt, Maggie (Drew), Ryan, Jack (Bri), Alicia (Alex), and Paisley; and her great-grandchildren: Colton, Myles, and Lucy.
Diane's life was a blessing, leaving behind a trail of beautiful memories that will be cherished forever.
Her family will honor her memory in a private family burial.

Diane and I shared the same birthday along with another classmate, Claudia. We three celebrated our 15th birthday birthday together. Diane and I were confirmed at Salem together and graduated from high school together. The shared birthday was a special bond even when we didn't see each other often. I will always remember her ready smile and the twinkle in her eyes.
