Celebrating the Life of Timothy Ronayne, April 5, 1963 - August 26, 2025 It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of Timothy James Arthur Ronayne, who reached the finish line of this chapter of his life on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at age 62, surrounded by loved ones. We are certain of his presence with Jesus for eternity, which gives us hope and a reason for celebration alongside our deep grief. The timeline of Tim's life begins with his parents, Patrick and Geraldine (Jeri) Ronayne. He had the blessing of five siblings and a childhood in South Minneapolis centered around family, faith, and fishing. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1981 and pursued a bachelor's degree in Business/Hospitality Management from the University of Minnesota. He married Shelley in 1988 and then added the role of Dad with the addition of two daughters, Caitlin and Meghan. His daughters cherish the memories of their growing up years together, which were filled with love and endless support. They suffered the devastating loss of Shelley in 2010 to cancer. In 2012, Tim found love again with Sarah, who had experienced her own deep losses. In finding each other, God helped to redeem their sorrows. They married in 2018, becoming a blended family including four adult children and their spouses under Tim's love and care. The final season of Tim's life included the great blessing of two beautiful grandchildren, Lucy and Benny Rust. The chapters of Tim's life all exemplify a man with great faith in Christ as his Savior, a tremendous heart of service, deep loyalty, and a strong work ethic. Tim made a deliberate choice to follow Christ as a teenager and lived out his faith as a leader on the Trinity Lutheran of Minnehaha Falls Council and as a growth group leader at City Church. His extensive caregiving to family and friends ranged from dropping everything to pull loved ones out of snowbanks, to building projects in their homes, to caring for all of our cars, to leadership at Camp Patmos, and his attentive care to our sacred place-the family cabin. His loyalty to family was unquestioned, continuing to care for Shelley's family and his extended family with Sarah, right alongside the needs of his mom, dad, and siblings. His incredible ability to fix things was one of the ways he cared well for those he loved. Tim's strong work ethic was also on full display through all his years serving in hotel and restaurant management and his final job in Capital Improvements at Timberland Partners, where he earned the Regional Capital Project Manager of the Year award only months before his passing. Tim cared deeply about his relationships with colleagues and staff, from housekeepers to the CEO. He will be remembered for his congeniality, reliability, and his affirmation of the accomplishments of co-workers. Perhaps the greatest throughline across all the chapters of Tim's life was his love of nature. He found his greatest moments of fellowship with the Lord in the quiet of a tree stand in hunting season. The Boundary Waters were his second home and a day of good conversation in the boat alongside a good catch was, to him, a testimony to God's goodness. Tim instilled the love of outdoors in his children, taking them on many memorable camping trips. Fishing trips with family and friends were highly anticipated events. Camping with his girls and fishing with the guys are cherished memories. His "collection" of national park adventures were not complete at the end of his life but we are certain the beauty he is experiencing in heaven is far beyond what he could have asked or imagined in the wildernesses he explored on earth. We are reluctant to say goodbye to our woods-and-water husband, dad, Granda, son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and dear friend. He is already deeply missed. Tim is survived by his wife, Sarah Arthur Ronayne; daughters Caitlin Ronayne and Meghan (Tyler) Rust, along with grandchildren Lucy and Bennett Rust; step-children Grey Arthur and Rachel (Zach) Butzler; along with siblings Jeanne (Jim Pittenger) Ronayne, Mike (Mary Ellen) Ronayne, Catherine Ronayne, and Terry Ronayne; Tim's mother, Jeri Ronayne; sister-in-law Sue (Terry) Mencel; father-in-law Bruce Underhill, sisters in law Mary Alice and Elizabeth Arthur; as well as treasured nieces, nephews, and extended family. Tim is predeceased by his first wife, Shelley (Underhill) Ronayne; brother Dan Ronayne; father Patrick Ronayne; sister-in-law Renae Ronayne; mother-in-law Carole Underhill; father-in-law Russell Arthur; and mother-in-law Alice Arthur. A service in Tim's honor will be held on Friday, September 5, at Trinity Lutheran Church of Minnehaha Falls, 5212 41st Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55417. Join us for a visitation hour at 10:00 am, with the service following at 11:00 and lunch at 12:00. Street parking is permitted. In lieu of flowers, Tim would be honored by a memorial donation to either Cuyuna Lakes Trails Association or the National Loon Center of Crosslake, MN.
