MIDLAND CITY, AL… Cora Danzey, a resident of Midland City, Alabama, passed away early Saturday morning, December 30, 2023, at her home. She was 102.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 5, 2023, at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, with Pastor Michael Senn officiating. Burial will follow in the Gates of Heaven Cemetery in Dothan, Alabama. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 P.M. prior to the service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will be accepting flowers.
Mrs. Danzey was born in Henry County, Alabama to the late Joe Patterson and Essie Mae Walker Patterson. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Freewill Missionary Baptist Church of Headland, Alabama, for many years before becoming a faithful member of Midway Assembly of God, until she was no longer able to attend. Mrs. Danzey was a resident of Headland, Alabama most of her life, before moving to Midland City to live with her son five years ago. She was a God-fearing woman who loved to spread the word of God and sing his praises. She also enjoyed family gatherings, where she would bless everyone with two of her favorite hymns; “Jordan River” and “When All Gods Children Get Together”. Mrs. Danzey loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a friend to everyone she knew.
Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Foy Lee Danzey, her daughters, Lela Mae Lewis and Linda Gale Reynolds; and her son, Roy Lee Danzey.
Leaving to cherish her memories is her son, Henry Danzey, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
