Cora Roy

Cora J. Roy, age 89, of Chesterfield Township, passed away on July 10, 2023. She was born on November 21, 1933. She married Burnell D. Roy, he preceded her in death on May 26, 2022.
Cora was a beautiful soul, she was full of love, strength, forgiveness and kindness. She was the foundation for her home and family. She loved to get on the golf course, go to the casino, spend many afternoons with her husband, Burnell watching the boats and freighters at the St. Clair Riverside Park, while having lunch. She loved playing card games, adult coloring books, old movies and most of all butterflies. Above all else, her favorite days were those spent with her family. She was the peacemaker and kept communication flowing with the family, with that she earned the nickname, "Miss AT & T". Her prayers and love were from a mothers heart and she helped each of her children on their journey through life. Butterflies will forever remind us of her love!
Cora is survived by her children; Dawn (Gary) Sramek, Dan Roy, Julie (Skip) Strauchman, Larry Roy, Michaeal (Deb) Roy, Cindy (Len) Look and Bob Roy, 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Cora was preceded in death by siblings; Robert Brown, Rose Kent and Jack Brown.
Memorial Tributes can be made to the Veterans of America.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at 3:00pm in the Jowett Funeral Home - 57737 Gratiot, New Haven. Pastor John Carlos will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:00pm until time of service at 3:00pm.
