CORA LINA WESSTROM
February 22, 1929 - January 9, 2026
Cora was from Smyrna DE, formerly of Fenwick Island DE.
At 96 years of age she died at the Bay Terrace Nursing Home in Dover DE.
She was a devoted companion of the late William Manning of Fenwick Island, DE for 25 years.
She was born in Farmington DE, the daughter of the late Charles Baker and Lillian Walker Baker of Christiana DE.
She was an avid tennis player and praticed Yoga religiously up until the age of 93. she was a very athletic person getting her Black Belt in TAEKWONDO at the age of 60 and later a second Black Belt in HAPKIDO at the age of 63. She also studied the art of CHI GUNG.
She loved to travel especially to Irland, and loved to adventure where most people would never think to vacation, like going down the Amazon River in a 15 man canoe.
She is survived by her son Lee C. Burkins of Patonia Colorado, her daughter Jean M. Mattson and husband John Mattson of Smyrna DE and preceded in death by her Daughter Susan C. Walls.
5 Grandchildren - Tina McQuaide and her husband David McQuaide of Kenton DE. Nicolas Kracher and his wife Abby Kracher of Elkins Park PA, Kelly Arterbridge and her husband Shaun Arterbridge of Townsend DE. Jay Miller and his wife Amber Miller of Clayton DE. Samantha Grandland and her husband Andy Grantland of Smyrna DE.
8 Great Grandchilren - Dustin Warren of Ft. Myers Florida, Dylan Leager of Kenton DE, Dalton Leager of Kenton DE, Andrew Alterbridge of Townsend DE, Nathan Arterbridge of Townsend DE, Cameron Miller of Clayton DE, Carmen Grantland of Smyrna DE, Brody Kracher of Elkins Park PA.
She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and will be missed forever, REST IN PEACE MOMMOM!
