Cora Mae Wright, 78, of Kerrville, TX, passed peacefully on February 23, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Born on December 25, 1947, in Eastland, TX, she brought joy to many throughout her life. Cora was a devoted nurse for over 35 years with the Veterans hospital in Kerrville, she loved caring for veterans, making a lasting impact on those she cared for.
Cora will always be remembered for her unwavering caring spirit and love for family. She was the one we all asked for sound advice and counseling. Her wise counsel will be deeply missed. Celebrating her life, we honor not only her professional dedication to veterans, but also her incredible love and joy found in family gatherings.
She is survived by her beloved brother, Ira Melvin "Mel" Carmack, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, nephews and her special fur babies Kyle and Mimi. Cora was preceded in death by her parents, Ira J. "Bud" and Katherine (Herrell) Carmack, her dear husband, Stephen R. Wright, brothers Bill Carmack and Dale Carmack, all of whom await her in eternal peace.
A joyful celebration of Cora's life will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland, TX. Family and friends are invited to gather for a viewing one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Eastland City Cemetery.
In the spirit of her joyous life, we welcome all who knew and loved Cora to join us in remembering a remarkable woman whose legacy of love, service, and caring will forever live on in our hearts.
