New Iberia – Funeral services will be at 7:00 pm, on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Pellerin Funeral Home, for Coralee Mayea Romero, 74, who passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer.
Interment will be at a later date in the Holy Family Cemetery.
Deacon Durk Viator will officiate.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 am until 8:00 pm, at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 6:00 pm, on Wednesday.
A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Romero was born in Franklin, on October 12, 1950, to the late Lawrence Joseph Mayea and Marjorie Cranche Mayea. She was a 1968 graduate of Northside High School, in Lafayette, and was employed at Sir Speedy Printing, in New Iberia, for over 20 years. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and was active in the Ladies Bowling League. Coralee loved going to the camp, fishing, and always looked forward to family poker nights. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandson, Drew, who was her pride and joy. Coralee will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her daughter, Stacy Lea Romero; grandson, Drew Michael Guillot; and her sister, Dolores “Dodie” Sinitere Broussard (Larry).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David “Pete” Romero; sister, Alice Mayea Meaux; brother-in-law, Farrel Sinitere; grandparents, Bernard Cranche, Cora Rogers Cranche Kihnel, Charles Kihnel, Lucian Mayea, and Alice Boudreaux Mayea.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dolores “Dodie” Sinitere Broussard and Shaley Hollier, for their love and compassion.
