CORBIN DAWSON Obituary

CORBIN JARRETT "C.J." DAWSON Funeral services for Corbin Jarrett "C.J." Dawson will be 2 p.m. Thursday, October 30, 2025, in the Craddock Memorial Chapel with Kirk Blancett officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Dawson, Colby Stoker, Leland Vick, Devin Gibson, Cody Goodin, Erik Robbins, Mike Willingham, Jeremiah Woodruff, Shawn Morales, Peyton Morales, Trevor Looney and Cutter Golson. Corbin, age 29, of Mannsville, Okla., passed from this life on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in Lebanon, Okla. Corbin was born February 1, 1996, in Ada at the Carl Albert Indian Hospital to his parents, Brenda and Buddy Dawson. He was a Native Chickasaw descendant of the Keel family and was a member of the Chickasaw Tribe. Corbin was best known as "C.J." to his friends and family. C.J. was a beloved father, first and foremost, son, brother, husband, grandson, uncle, cousin and friend to many. C.J. attended schools in Mannsville, Tishomingo and Dickson. He graduated with the Class of 2014 from Dickson High School. C.J. obtained an associate's degree from Murray State College. He had started working towards his bachelor's degree at Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant. From a very young age, C.J. was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved being outside riding motorcycles and side by sides with his son Liam, bow fishing, duck hunting...anything outdoors! As a teenager he even tried bull riding. He was an ordained minister and officiated weddings. He was employed by Crosswinds Striper Guide Services at Lake Texoma, working for Shawn Morales. He also worked as a pheasant guide for Jason Johnson during the winter season for Upland Inn Hunts in Kansas. Other jobs he held included installing equipment in homes for Shannon Laird and tree cutting services with Erik Robins. He had his own guide service for a brief time called 3-D Guide Services. The most important role he ever held was being a father to his son Liam and trying to support his family. There are so many adventures that C.J. had throughout his short time on this earth. He enjoyed sharing time with his brother Kyle and their numerous friends. C.J. was always the life of the party...whether good or bad! He was one of the best friends you could ever meet. He could go head-to-head with you today, then call you the next day to apologize and tell you he loved you. He mostly loved spending time with his son and family doing adventurous things. C.J. is survived by the pride of his life, his son, Liam Lee Dawson and the mother of their son, Skylar Danelle Dawson of Ardmore; parents, Buddy and Brenda Dawson of Mannsville; brother, Kyle Dawson and his fiancé Lyndsey Woulfe of Ardmore; niece and nephew, Gracelyn and Gavin Dawson of Colbert, Okla.; grandparents, Virginia Sherwood of Little City, Okla., Joyce Dawson of Ardmore, and Donnie and Deborah McGehee of Wichita, Kansas; Granny, Nancy Peek of Oakland, Okla., and Carolyn Dawson of Pottsboro, Texas; bonus parents, Erik and Mary Robins of Ardmore, and Mary Evans of Ardmore; multiple bonus nieces and nephews who called him Uncle C.J.; many friends he called brothers and sisters, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Missouri and California. C.J. is preceded in death by his grandpa, Jess Sherwood (his go to person for everything); grandpa, Norman Dawson; brother-in-law, Gage Gatlin; beloved friends, Reyshell Hunter, Stevie Cellum, Ian Pruitt and Larry Kessler; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and great-grandparents.
