Corey Smith Davis
Amory – A cherished father and supportive husband, Corey Smith Davis, 39, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at his residence in Amory, Mississippi. He was born on July 31, 1985, in Rosedale, MS, to Kimberly Davis Barnett and he was raised with the help of the man who was all things father to him, Jerry Davis.
Corey grew up in Monroe County and graduated from Hatley High School. He came from a large family with two sisters and two brothers and he learned early the importance of family. He was a hardworking man and was blessed with a family whom he cherished and job that enabled him to provide for his family. They meant the world to Corey so he worked tirelessly for many years at Watco in the Maintenance Division always doing whatever he could to help his family.
He married the love of his life, Felicia Ross Davis at a young age and they were married for over 19 years. They shared many great times, worked through hard times, enjoyed vacations and made wonderful memories through the years. Together, they were blessed with two sons and a daughter. Corey really enjoyed being with his family, especially when they traveled to the beach where he could just relax and soak up the calm of the ocean. Corey was also an avid hunter, he liked to be outside and surrounded by nature. Hunting was one of his favorite things to do, in addition to fishing on the lake.
He was talented with his hands and through the years he mastered the craft of wood working, creating many impressive carved creations. There is no doubt, that before he would spend time in his wood working shop or hunting, he would have preferred to spend time with his family. He passing has come unexpectantly and they are going to miss the wonderful man he was in their lives.
Corey will be missed so much by his family and friends. There were so many great memories made through the years and they will forever be grateful for the love he gave them.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Felicia Davis, Amory; sons, Kolton Davis and Kyler Davis, of the home; daughter, Mackenzie Davis, of the home; dad, Jerry Davis; mother, Kimberly Davis Barnette; sister, Brittney Davis; brother, Blake Arbuckle; father and mother-in-law, Jeffery and Cynthia Ross; brother-in-law, Brian Ross and his wife Ashley; sister-in-law, Jessica Ross; nieces, Brianna and Noelle; nephews, Gaven and Logan; and a large extended family.
