Corey was born in St. Peter to Tim and Tammy Hughes on January 31, 1985. Two years later, he was joined by his sister, Cassie. Corey went on to attend St. Peter schools and graduated from St. Peter High School in 2003. It was while he was in high school that he met the love of his life, Sarah, and they continued their life together until this day. Corey worked in various restaurant, construction, factory, and sales jobs throughout his life. In October 2018, Corey and Sarah were blessed with the birth of their son, Drezden, followed 13 months later by the birth of their second son, Drayco.
Corey had a type-A personality and was very outgoing. He could carry on a conversation with anyone he met. He was very smart, kind, considerate, and had a great sense of humor. He loved cooking, barbequing, music, golf, and watching his beloved Vikings and Twins. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his sons, with Sarah, and of course their dog, Bella. He will be missed dearly by his fiancé, sons, family, and friends. Gone way too soon.
Corey is survived by his fiancé, Sarah Sinarath; sons, Drezden (5) and Drayco (4); parents, Timothy and Tamra Hughes (nee Honetschlager); sister, Cassandra (Adam) Anderson and their daughters, Alexis, Arianna, Talia, and Vayda; aunts and uncles, Al (Robin) Hughes, Danny (Sue) Honetschlager, Debbie (Dave) Vetter, and Teri (Greg) Knutson; cousins, Chad (Rachel) Honetschlager, Blake (Jill) Honetschlager, Marit (Erich) Westrich, Kara Honetschlager, Jennifer (Scott) Graham, Nathan (Lindsey) Vetter, Nic (Kelli Mortz) Vetter, Julianne (Spencer) Barrett, Robert (Starla) Hughes, and Alison (Kevin) Lamm; Sarah’s parents, Som and Vong Sinarath; anticipated brothers-and-sisters-in-law, Vin (Amy) Sinarath, Marie (Jonathan) Thornburg and their daughters, Quinn and Isla, Arlen (Haley Bracken) Sinarath, and Megan Sinarath; and many other relatives and friends.
