Bruce Kinsella passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Mankato surrounded by his family.
A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at a later date.
Bruce was born on April 20, 1952 in Norway, MI to Robert and Darlene Kinsella. He grew up in Niagara, WI and graduated from Niagara High School in 1970 and the University OshKosh in 1975.
On June 13, 1986 Bruce married Sandy Meerkins in Rochester, MN. Bruce worked for Catholic Aid Association for many years and was Vice President of Wells Fargo Wealth Management until his retirement.
Bruce enjoyed golfing, hunting, biking (completing his personal goal of biking the entire Iowa Ragbrai in 2012) and, in his retirement, spending afternoons on the lake. Bruce felt pride in the life he built for his sons’ futures. As he reiterated to his sons: “Just as I have stood on my father’s shoulders, you will stand on mine”. He had immense joy in being “Bumpa” and loved spending time with his grandson. He will be greatly missed by his family.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Sandy, sons Matt (Jaqui) of Mankato, Adam (Kat) and the light of his life, his grandson Kieran, of Sioux Falls; mother-in-law Bonnie; brother-in-law Steve (LeAnn); sisters-in-law Renee (Claus), Joleen (Frank) and many nieces and nephews. Bruce is preceded in death by his parents and father in-law Martin.
