Corey Adam Martinez

Corey Martinez, age 36, of Midland, TX went to his Heavenly Home March 7, 2026. He was born March 13, 1989, in Midland, TX to Yrene Guzman Martinez and Arthur Martinez Jr.

The loss that we are facing is immeasurable. Corey was a big hearted, outgoing, outspoken, young man. He truly loved and cared for his family wholeheartedly. To his sisters he was their "little BIG brother". To his nieces and nephews, he was a father figure even though he had no children of his own, to him they were his kids. To Corey, if you were his friend he really considered you family and probably treated you as such. Corey cherished life and enjoying it. He got to travel, and enjoyed going to the lake with his friends. He got to experience a charter boat and fishing with his company. Most of the time you could simply find him at the house relaxing with family and cooking out, and that was perfect to him.

Left to cherish Corey's memory are his mother Yrene Martinez (Florencio Barron) of Midland,TX, father Arthur Martinez Jr. of Big Spring, TX, sisters; Amy Martinez (Enrique Guzman) of Midland, TX, Vanessa Martinez ( Raymond Glover) of Midland, TX, brother Jeffrey Martinez of Midland, TX, grandmother Nancy Guzman of Midland,TX, nieces and nephews; Angelina Zarate, Aaron Zarate, Fabian Martinez, Jadyn Hudson, Jacob Martinez, Mya Martinez, aunts and uncles; Yolanda James, Mr. and Mrs. Ysidro Guzman, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Guzman, Mr. and Mrs. Domingo Guzman Jr., as well as many cousins, extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather Domingo Guzman Sr., aunt Nora Salinas, uncles Roland Salinas and Eddie James Sr.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 16, 2026 at Avalos-Sanchez and Thomas Funeral Home, 1502 N. Lamesa Rd. Midland, TX 79701 beginning at 11:00am until 8:00pm with a rosary being recited at 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1401 Garden Lane, Midland, TX 79701 at 10:00am. Interment will immediately follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 6800 SH-349, Midland, TX 79706.

Pallbearers include Josh Brito, Robert Castillo, Enrique Guzman, Tony Zarate, Cedric Johnson, and Raymond Glover. Honorary Pallbearers include Fabian Martinez, Jadyn Hudson, Aaron Zarate, Jordan Parrett, and Jacob Martinez.
