Corina Madonna Pachl was born October 10, 1965 to Ed and Madonna (Magelky) Pachl. She grew up in Dickinson attending grade school at St. Joseph’s Elementary and graduated from Dickinson High School. Corina received her Bachelor of Science in Education at Dickinson State University. She taught elementary students at St. Patrick’s and St. Wenceslaus for a number of years, enriching many lives.
In 1987, Corina met and married her soulmate, Rod Zalesky. They were blessed with a daughter, Megan. Throughout the years, Corina worked at DSU, Funshine Express, and later at Brady Martz.
Corina enjoyed reading, baking, camping, swimming and being outdoors.
In 2018, Mayo Clinic diagnosed Corina with pancreatic cancer. This obstacle resulted in many surgeries and procedures. In this journey, Corina was moved by caring, intelligent and empathetic people. She is forever grateful and blessed by all those who have touched her life.
Corina’s motto was “keep it simple”, especially after her diagnoses. She surrounded herself with positive people and made sure everyone felt included. Because Corina understood that ‘children are our future’, she prioritized and appreciated them all dearly. Regardless of her circumstances, both in sickness and health, Corina’s faith was always a priority!
Corina is survived by her husband Rod; daughter, Megan (Robbie) Morey, Dickinson; mother, Madonna Pachl; sisters, Corliss (Vern) Hahn, Bismarck, and Coletta (Jim) Stanger, Gillette, WY; brothers, Glenn (Pam) Pachl, Dickinson, and Garrett (Vicki) Pachl, Glen Wood, IA; grandchildren, Ava and Lowen.
Corina is preceded in death by her father, Ed Pachl; father-in-law, Richard Zalesky; brother-in-law, Doug Zalesky; and nephew, Michael Weigel-Zalesky.
In lieu of flowers, Corina’s family suggests memorials be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
